He added further, "The flyover will be made by National Highways Authority of India of which the approximate estimate is Rs. 294 crore." As a matter of fact, the Archaeolo-gical Survey of India and Delhi Urban Art Council have given a go-ahead to the project. According to the NHAI sources, after the completion of formalities of confessionars related to the project, the State Support Agreement would be declared officially. The tender would be open from March and for that formalities are being carried out. The construction work is supposed to start in September this year. The construction of flyover has been permitted by the Expenditure Financial Committee of Delhi Government and Delhi Development Authority. State Support Agreement: Under the Agreement, it is declared that there is no objection from the either of State Governments on the construction and they will not only help in construction but also remove the other problems with respect to the construction and will not impose any type of taxes too. The Planning: To make Badarpur flyover, the planning was chalked out during the reign of the government of then Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala 7 years back. The aim of constructing the flyover is to solve the problem of traffic jam and to give free turns to the traffic from Badarpur to Mithapur- Jaitpur and to Prahladpur- Meharauli. Earlier, this scheme was delayed due to the matter of proportional share between Delhi and Haryana Governments. After that this was in trouble due to some political leaders. Finally, it was given to NHAI and a scheme was drafted by the department 2 years back for the flyover and it was decided to construct it with cooperation of private firms and develop it as a toll bridge. There is also a plan to utilise the space below the flyover by constructing a ramp.
